Police have released the names of two women that were injured in a shooting on Falls Lane in Hopkinsville Saturday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say several shell casings were found in the roadway and a car that had been hit several times was located on Jones Street with two women inside that had been shot.
30-year-old Desirea Caldwell from Union City, Tennessee, and 31-year-old Labrica Ward of Hopkinsville were taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center with gunshot wounds. One of them was later flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
Law enforcement and firefighters were already in the area for a house fire on McKee Street when the shooting happened.
Police attempted to stop a vehicle leaving the area and it fled leading them on a pursuit into Pembroke before the officer lost sight of the vehicle.
No arrest has been made and police say it’s unknown at this time if the fire and shooting are connected.
The shooting happened at the intersection of Falls Lane and College Street.
