Pretrial Release Granted In Princeton Road Reckless Homicide Case

A Christian Circuit Court judge delayed the trial and then granted a pretrial release of a Hopkinsville man charged in a deadly crash that claimed the lives of a Cerulean mother and her young daughter in December 2019.

Robert Jackson is charged with two counts of reckless homicide and two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment in the deaths of 32-year old Misty Quarles and her 11-year old daughter, Alexia Trump.

In Christian Circuit Court Wednesday afternoon, Jackson appeared virtually from the Christian County Jail with his new attorney Olivia Adams who entered her appearance in the courtroom before Judge Andrew Self.

Adams told Judge Self that she needs some time to review a large amount of evidence in the case and she anticipates she would likely request the trial to be vacated. However, Adams said she was ready to argue for Jackson’s release since he has been incarcerated for over six months. Judge Self then listened to Adams and the Commonwealth’s recommended conditions of release. He then agreed to release Jackson from jail on several conditions, including wearing a GPS ankle monitor.

Judge Self vacated the jury trial scheduled on June 13.

Jackson’s charges are in connection to a two-vehicle wreck on December 23, 2019 on Princeton Road. Deputies said Jackson’s vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a pickup truck driven by Misty Quarles, killing her and her daughter.
