In a partnership with the Western Kentucky Regional Blood Center, the Christian County Imagination Library will be hosting the bloodmobile from 12-4 PM Tuesday, April 5, at 1101 Bethel Street.
A portion of the proceeds will go into supporting the Imagination Library. Its coordinator, Ka’Dessa Snorton, noted that the opportunity to host a blood drive and help kids receive free books was too tough of pass.
For every pint of blood collected, the WKRBC will donate $5 to the Imagination Library. The hope is for a minimum of 16 donors in this four-hour time frame, which would provide $90 to be used for children aged birth to 5 years to receive books.
Donors must be 17 years old (or 16, with parental consent) and must weigh 115 or more pounds. Each donor will receive a free T-shirt.
Donors must also sign up for available time slots. To do so, contact Snorton at (270) 887-4262.
In Christian County alone, the Imagination Library services more than 3,300 children enrolled with the program. The process to join is easy: email imaginationlibrary@hccpl.org or visit the web at hccpl.org.
