Christian County Public Schools are looking for quality teachers for Freedom Elementary School, as they continue to improve the school with the help of the Kentucky Department of Education.

Superintendent Chris Bentzel tells Your News Edge, the school is working to improve the learning experience for students after test scores were not where they needed to be last school year.

He says the leadership team is in place for the school, with a focus on finding quality teachers for the years ahead.

One way the district is recruiting the best is by offering a stipend, on top of your regular pay, that will encourage up to ten new teachers to join the school.

That program will offer a $6,000 stipend in the 2023-24 school year and a $3,500 stipend for the following school year.

Bentzel adds the program will offer additional benefits.

In order to be eligible for the program, teachers must have at least four years of teaching experience and preferably hold a Master’s degree.

Those interested can learn more about the opportunity at Freedom Elementary School Wednesday afternoon from 3:00 to 6:00, during an open house.
