Mayor Knight Says Key Hopkinsville Officials Retiring This Year

Hopkinsville Mayor J. R. Knight says he will work to fill some key positions that will be vacated by retirements later this year.

Knight says the first of the retirements to be filled is the Hopkinsville Police Chief post that will be vacated by the August 1 retirement of Chief Clayton Sumner, with Knight announcing Friday that he has selected Christian County Chief Deputy Sheriff Jason Newby to fill the post.
