A home on Canton Street in Hopkinsville was badly damaged in a fire Wednesday morning.
Hopkinsville Fire Department Spokesman Payton Rogers says smoke was coming from the roof of the home when they arrived just before noon.
Everyone was able to get out of the home on their own uninjured. A passerby reportedly pulled a hose and attempted to help put the fire out before firefighters arrived.
Rogers says the fire started on the back of the home near the porch and quickly spread inside damaging one room and causing smoke damage.
The home is located at 2407 Canton Street. The family will be temporarily displaced due to the damage.
