Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron, one of the twelve Republican candidates for Governor in the May Primary Election, made a stop in Hopkinsville to visit with supporters Thursday.
During his stop at the Christian County Republican Headquarters on Canton Pike, Cameron said a common concern that has been echoed throughout the campaign includes issues with “far left Democrats” and Governor Andy Beshear.
Cameron added Kentucky can not “afford four more years of failed leadership from Governor Beshear.”
Cameron said he will continue to stand toe-to-toe with politicians who have shown “constant abuse of power.”
Cameron said that if he’s elected governor, his first day in office would consist of showing that Kentucky believes in natural gas and coal and making sure proper investments are made in those industries.
When asked if he supports new gun control measures, he said any potential red flag laws would be vetoed and that he opposes anything that would not allow residents from having the “weapon of their choice.”
Abortion was also a topic he was asked about, Cameron said his track record as Kentucky’s Attorney General shows where he stands and that he’s kept abortion clinics in the state closed since the overturning of Roe v. Wade last year.
