
Over 300 Hopkinsville Community College students walked across the stage Friday during three commencement ceremonies.
During the celebrations, the school announced the student named the 2022-23 HCC Spirit Cup Winner and the KCTCS All-Academic Team awardees.
The Spirit Cup Outstanding Hopkinsville Community College Graduate Award, given by the Alpha Delta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, is presented annually at spring commencement. Esther Ebbay, of Oak Grove, was named the 2022-23 Spirit Cup honoree. She came to HCC as a Hopkinsville Rotary Scholar recipient and graduated with an associate in science degree.
Esther served as Student Government Association president, Round Table Writers’ Group president, and the student representative of the HCC Board of Directors.
To be eligible for the Spirit Cup, the student must meet the exacting criteria; be graduating with an associate degree, be actively involved in the college, have at least a 3.0 GPA, have demonstrated leadership ability, and be positive and enthusiastic about HCC.
Additionally, two students were named to the Kentucky Community and Technical College System All-Academic Team.

Trigg County native Andrew Greene was named to the 2022-23 KCTCS All-Academic Team representing technical/occupational program degree students. He graduated with an associate in applied science in industrial maintenance technology, diplomas in both industrial maintenance technician and industrial auto & robotics tech level I, and certificates in both industrial maintenance mechanic level I and industrial maintenance robotics technician.
Jaylan Renna, of Hopkinsville, was also named a 2022-23 KCTCS All-Academic Team representing transfer associate degree students. He graduated with both an associate in science and an associate in arts degree. He was also a Hopkinsville Rotary Scholarship recipient.
This year marks the 22nd year for the KCTCS All-Academic Team, which recognizes 32 of the system’s most outstanding students from the 16 KCTCS institutions across the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The KCTCS All-Academic Team honors two students from each college – one student representing the transfer associates degree and another student pursuing a technical/occupational program associates degree. Faculty members nominate the students who are selected by a committee made up of faculty.
