According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, there is a slight chance for severe weather across western Kentucky Sunday.
Meteorologist Ryan Presley says the main threats during the afternoon hours could be damaging winds and large hail. Presley adds any rain that falls Sunday morning could lower the amount of instability, lowering the severe storm potential.
Most of the severe activity should occur during the afternoon and early evening hours, from about 1:00 to 8:00.
Presley says the area could also see up to an inch-and-a-half of rain, but totals will vary depending on exactly where the heaviest rain falls.
