David Burgos, 80, of Daysville

The Todd County Funeral Home is honored to have been called to serve the family of Mr. David Burgos.

Mr. David Burgos, age 80 of the Daysville Community, passed away on Sunday, June 25th at his home of natural causes.

He was born March 7, 1943, in Shelby, Mississippi the son of the late Benjamin and Mary Solis Burgos.

He retired from the United States Army as a Command Sargent Major and was a Vietnam Veteran as well as serving in Desert Storm and on the Special Forces. After retirement from the military, he became the Dean of Hopkinsville Community College where he retired from. He loved his family and spending time with them.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Burgos of Daysville; two sons, Brandon Griffey (Elise) of Franklin, Tennessee, and D.J. Burgos of Hopkinsville; three daughters, Maria Burgos of Hopkinsville, Bonnie Taylor (Rick) of Hopkinsville and Emily Griffey of Daysville; a sister, Martina Andino of New Orleans, Louisiana; nine grandchildren, Izzy, Peyton, Rikki, Eston, Grace, Aiden, Thomas, Xan and Rain and one great-grandchild, Rowan.

Visitation with the Burgos family will be on Tuesday from 5:00 until 7:00 at the Todd County Funeral Home. The funeral service is scheduled to be conducted on Wednesday at 10:00 in the Rose Chapel of the Todd County Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Blick officiating. Interment will follow at 12:00 at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville with military honors.
