Two Charged With Drug Possession In Hopkinsville

A traffic stop on East 9th Street in Hopkinsville led to drug charges for a Hopkinsville man and woman Friday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say they stopped 21-year-old Chenoa Hall for her license plate not being illuminated and during the stop she was found to have no insurance.

A law enforcement K9 reportedly alerted on the vehicle and after a search a bag containing suspected meth was found in her purse. Police say in the glove compartment in front of the passenger 28-year-old Jvontae Thornton a bag of suspected cocaine was located.

Hall was arrested and charged with possession of meth, license plate not illuminated, and failure to produce an insurance card.

Thornton reportedly became irate during the traffic stop and started screaming and cursing. He was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and second-degree disorderly conduct.
