A wreck on Interstate 24 in Trigg County sent a Georgia man to the hospital Wednesday morning.
Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies say a car driven by Darryl Cheeves was eastbound when it collided with the back of a tractor-trailer causing the car to run off the roadway and into a field next to Smith Road.
The driver of the tractor-trailer did not stop and is believed to have not known that the car hit his truck.
Cheeves was flown from the scene to a Nashville hospital due to his injuries.
The crash happened just after 4 am at the 68-mile marker of Interstate 24.
