Norman ‘Norm” Nardi, 76, of Clifty

Norman “Norm” Nardi, age 76 of Clifty, passed away peacefully at his home at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2023, with his wife and daughter by his side after a battle with cancer.

Norman Joseph Nardi was born in Springfield, MA on January 13, 1947. He served as a Boatswain on the USS Leary of the United States Navy. After serving his country, he went on to become a police officer, later starting the K9 unit in Agawam, Massachusetts. Norm moved to Florida where he served 24 years with the Miami Metro Dade Police Department where he was known as one of the best police dog trainers in the country. After retirement, Norm and Allison moved to Kentucky where they raised Black Angus cattle. Their farm, Echo Hollar, was host to numerous family and friends who traveled there to partake in Norm and Allison’s hospitality, the peace of a beautiful home, hunting and Norm’s outstanding cooking.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Allison Nardi, his sons, Jeff Nardi of Massachusetts and Jim Nardi of Florida, his daughter, Janice Fisher and her husband Tadd of Alabama also their mother, Dorothy Nardi, his grandchildren, Jeff, Jacquie, Nicholas, Anthony, Armando and Joseph, his great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Riley Mae, his brothers, Robert Nardi and his wife Catherine of Rhode Island, Gary Nardi and his wife Darilynn of Massachusetts, his sisters, Linda Charest and her husband Robert of Massachusetts, Florence Nardi of Massachusetts, Claire Nardi of Pennsylvania, Diane Steinberg and her husband John of Massachusetts. Norm had many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Laura Kennedy, as well as his treasured coon hounds Daisy Mae and Buleah.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Armando and Mildred Peterman Nardi, his brothers, Howard Nardi and Richard Nardi and his nephew Mark Galda.

Norm’s wishes were to be cremated. In lieu of a viewing a memorial will be held on Monday, August 7, 2023 from 4 to 7 pm with a tribute service at 6 pm at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton.
