Authorities are warning the community about scammers claiming to be with the sheriff’s office Thursday afternoon.
Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say several citizens have received phone calls from someone claiming to be Sergeant Spann and requesting $3,000 to prevent them from being arrested.
The call usually shows the number 270-298-1121 and Harper, Kentucky.
Deputies say they do not conduct business this way and suggest you hang up and not give them any personal information.
