Continuing HWEA’s tradition of celebrating with employees before holiday weekends, Jeffers Bend Environmental Center dedicated a new pavilion Friday morning.
This is the second pavilion constructed on the southeastern corner of the property and comes about two years after the first.
HWEA President Derrick Watson thanked Jeffers Bend for providing these pavilions to use during their special lunches and called Pennyrile RC&D Coordinator Charles Turner a force of nature.
Christian County Judge-Executive Jerry Gilliam echoed Watson’s comments and added that Jeffers Bend genuinely benefits the community.
Before offering up a prayer of dedication, Rev. Cliff Hunt – Kids and Family Pastor at New Work Fellowship, shared a message from Psalm 23.
Each pavilion cost around $50,000 and was built by East Construction, of Hopkinsville. By the end of the month, a brick grill area will be installed between the two structures for visitors to utilize.
