In a bid to ensure the safety and longevity of the Kentucky 117 overpass bridge, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has announced that Interstate 24 Eastbound will be reduced to one lane at mile point 73, starting Monday.
The closure is necessary to facilitate repairs to the bridge approach end expansion joint.
The duration of this maintenance work is anticipated to be approximately three weeks, weather permitting. During this period, motorists traveling eastbound on I-24 are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and expect delays. The transportation cabinet urges drivers to exercise caution and adhere to all posted speed limits and traffic control measures in the construction zone.
