The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has started some asphalt resurfacing projects in the City of Hopkinsville.
Weather permitting the projects will be completed within the next three weeks. The first project will focus on Kentucky 272/Canton Street, with project limits spanning from Kentucky 1007/North Drive to Kentucky 107/South Virginia Street.
Following that, the second project will address Kentucky 380/Country Club Lane from Kentucky 272/Canton Street to U.S. 41-A/Fort Campbell Boulevard. The final project will take place along Kentucky 380/Skyline Drive from Fort Campbell Boulevard to U.S. 41/Pembroke Road.
To ensure a smooth road surface, milling will be performed at intersections and along the curb and gutter sections. This process involves removing the top layer of the existing asphalt to create a level surface for the new pavement.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution and follow any detour signs or traffic control measures put in place during the construction period.
