Elbert Dwain Saltzgiver, 99, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky died at 11:34 a.m., Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at Christian Health Center in Hopkinsville.
Mr. Saltzgiver’s final wishes were to be cremated and to have graveside services which will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, Kentucky Hughart, beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A native of Lansing, Michigan he was born on July 4, 1924, the son of the late Chester Saltzgiver and Elizabeth Ora Saltzgiver. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Laverne Walker Saltzgiver.
He was a retired salesman for Lance Crackers and a member and deacon emeritus of Second Baptist Church in Hopkinsville. He was also a World War Two United States Navy Veteran.
Survivors include his daughter: Sandy (Don) Marquess of Hopkinsville, Kentucky; his granddaughter, Paige (Lyndon) Dunning of Mayfield, KY; his great-grandson, Kamden Dunning and his sister, Shirley Joiner of Hopkinsville, KY
