Another face familiar to Trigg Countians is returning to law enforcement.
Monday afternoon at Cadiz City Hall, and with several friends and family in attendance, Mayor Todd King swore in David King to the Cadiz Police Department.
A Hart County native, David most recently spent close to eight years with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office in patrol and anti-crime detective effort. He has prior experience with the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office and his hometown Mumfordville Police Department.
But it’s a job with former Trigg County Sheriff Ray Burnam that originally brought him out to west Kentucky.
Furthermore, while he resides in Christian County, Cadiz is more like home. His wife is from Trigg County, born-and-raised, and her entire family lives here. David said they have taken him in since his parents’ passing, and Trigg County offers some comfort.
There’s one part-time job he has, too, that’s kept him touch with local officials, and he’s hoping to further build his rapport with the community.
Cadiz Police Chief Tyler Thomas said two positions remain open in the department: one school resource officer and one road trooper.
