A Hopkinsville man was charged Tuesday in connection to a shooting that happened on East 1st Street on October 2nd.
Hopkinsville Police say 37-year-old Phillip Sanders fired shots into an occupied home damaging the house and a car outside of the home before hitting a fire hydrant with his vehicle and fleeing the area.
14 spent 7.62 caliber shell casings were found in the roadway. Police say no one was injured in the shooting.
Sanders was arrested Tuesday at his home in Hopkinsville and was reportedly found to have 8 ounces of marijuana, 10 packages of suspected THC-laced gummies, 70 Buprenorphine strips, scales, and a handgun in his home.
He is charged with leaving the scene of an accident, first-degree criminal mischief, first-degree wanton endangerment, trafficking marijuana, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
