Funeral services for 70-year-old SFC Mark E. Oiler, Sr., US Army, Ret. of Cadiz, will be on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at Goodwin Funeral Home, on Saturday, November 4, 2023, after 4:00.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Linda Oiler of Cadiz; three sons, Mark (Sara) Oiler, Jr. of Madisonville, Kentucky, Jimmy (Fiancé, Kelly) Copeland of Huntsville, Alabama, Scott (Corinne) Copeland of Smyrna, Tennessee; one daughter, Melinda (Adam) Johnson of Cadiz; nine grandchildren, Austin, Dalton, Dustin, Kerra, Presley, Bella, Emily, Autumn, Ameniah; a sister, Joan McIntyre of Scio, Ohio; sister-in-law, Wanda Oiler of Mingo Junction, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
SFC Mark E. Oiler, Sr., US Army, Ret. passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville.
Born March 19, 1953, in Steubenville, Ohio, he was the son of the late John W. Oiler, Sr. and the late LauVada Bake Oiler. Mark retired from the US Army as a SFC after 20 years of serving our country during the Korean War and Operation Desert Storm. After his retirement from the Army, he worked 10 years at Dana Corporation in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and a short time as a Deputy Jailer for Trigg County. Mark enjoyed fishing, traveling, and sitting on his front porch enjoying nature with his wife, Linda. His greatest joy came from his family, especially being “Pa” and “Grump” to his nine grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him and called him a friend.
