A Hopkinsville firefighter and Advanced EMT recently jumped into action while on vacation in Hawaii with his wife and saved a man who was having a medical issue.
Hopkinsville Firefighter James Pepper says he was taking a photo with his wife on a pier in Hawaii, when he heard a woman yelling while pulling a man out of the water.
Pepper says he ran over and gave CPR to the man who was turning blue and was unresponsive. He was able to revive the man and he was taken by ambulance to a hospital.
Pepper’s wife posted on Facebook about how proud she was of her husband and how he changed that couple’s life.
Hopkinsville Fire Department Chief Steve Futrell says he is proud to hear of James’s actions while vacationing in Hawaii and is not surprised he was quick to act; ultimately saving someone’s life.
