The Kentucky Ag Finance Committee and the Kentucky Ag Development Board held a joint meeting in Christian County Friday.
Brian Lacefield, the Executive Director of the Kentucky Office of Agriculture Policy, mentioned that these meetings were conducted following a tour of various ag-related projects on Thursday, which were, funded in part by both groups.
Lacefield added he heard positive feedback about this round of project visits.
During the joint meeting held on Friday morning at the Christian County Extension Office, Lacefield shared that several additional projects had been approved by both boards.
During the ag finance committee meeting, Dr. Ryan Quarles, the Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture, briefly welcomed Dr. Alissa Young, the President of Hopkinsville Community College.
In her brief remarks, Dr. Young addressed him as President Quarles, acknowledging his upcoming role as the President of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System. He officially assumes that position on January 1, 2024, after completing two consecutive four-year terms as the Commissioner of Agriculture.
