Ina “Nell” Myers, age 95, of Hopkinsville, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes. Funeral services will be at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Kim Combs officiating and burial to follow in Resthaven Cemetery in Clarksville. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home on Saturday, November 19, 2023, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mrs. Myers was born in White Plains, KY, on April 25, 1928, the daughter of the late Estill and Cora Johnston Nixon. Nell was a seamstress. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, and the 187th Rakkasans. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Millard Stratton in 1970, her second husband, Lester B. Greear in 1997 and her third husband, John Myers in 2020; her daughters, Patsy Ann Cornelius in 2015 and Sammie Jo Joiner in 2019; her sister, Novella Duke.
Survivors include her son, Bobby W. Stratton (Barbara) of Indianapolis; several stepchildren; her sister, Betty Jean Jones of Frog Hop; seven grandchildren, Brooke Gibson (Lynn) of Hopkinsville, Jamie Cornelius of Hopkinsville, Tracy Oliver (Donnie) of Gracey, Brian (Jessica) Cornelius of Hopkinsville, Heather Stratton of Indianapolis, LaDonna Miller of Indianapolis, and Joshua Fiese (Beth) of Auburn; nine great-grandchildren, Taylor Cornelius, Drake Oliver, Layton Gibson, Hannah Goins, Tatum Fiese, Jake Fiese, Brantley Fiese, Lily Fiese, and Jessie Fiese.
