The holiday season officially kicks off on Small Business Saturday at the Alhambra Theatre in downtown Hopkinsville.
Pennyroyal Arts Council Executive Director Margaret Prim tells Your News Edge that country group Lonestar will be the performers for this year’s Holiday Hopfest.
Lonestar has charted over twenty singles on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart – they will perform several of those and some Christmas songs.
Prim says there is some recent storm damage that’s at the top of the repair list for the 95-year-old facility.
Over the last nine years, the Holiday Hopfest has raised almost $100,000.
Next week, Brooke Bailey Dance Addiction performers will take over the Alhambra Theatre stage for performances of ‘The Nutcracker’ Friday through Sunday.
A new series, Jazz on the Stage, will kickoff on Friday, December 8, with two shows.
Prim adds there will also be several Holiday movies shown at the Alhambra in the weeks leading up to Christmas. The final Christmas performance will come Thursday, December 21, when Christmas in Killarney rolls into town.
