A Hopkinsville man was charged with drug trafficking and fleeing from law enforcement on Hancock Street on November 21st.
Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say during a search of 24-year-old Mikal Yandel’s home in connection to a drug investigation, Yandel fled out the back door with a firearm and jumped the fence before tossing the gun under a porch.
Police say he was found to have 4 ounces of marijuana, a 45 caliber handgun, and drug paraphernalia in his possession.
Two deputies reportedly suffered injuries to their hands and damage to their uniforms during the foot pursuit.
Yandel was arrested and charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, using restricted ammo during a felony (no shots), and trafficking marijuana.
