Last Friday, officials with the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office hosted a three-hour “Fill the Cruiser” effort at Cash Express in Cadiz — collecting donations of cash, new toys and coats for the Trigg County EMS Toy Drive.
Per Faye Godair, efforts were successful. One new coat, more than $50 in new toys and $286 cash came their way from the community.
Godair noted they were thankful for those that did stop by, and that local citizens live in a great community that is “always stepping up to make sure families are taken care of during the holidays.”
She added that there was one special giving moment, where a young child opted to donate some of his own money from his allowance.
As for their own holiday spirits, TCSO officials will be taking kids shopping December 14. It will be the second year in a row for this philanthropy, and the department has been receiving donations from area businesses and community members to make the shopping spree a reality.
