Traffic Stop Ends In Drug Charges For Gracey Man

A Gracey man was charged with drug possession after a traffic stop on West 7th Street in Hopkinsville Friday night.

Hopkinsville Police say they stopped a vehicle driven by 45-year-old Wesley Pryor because he was using his phone while driving and during the stop, he dropped a gun on the ground. Officers say they detected the odor of marijuana coming from his vehicle and he was found to have marijuana, an open alcoholic beverage, and a white powder substance in his possession.

He was arrested and charged with driving a motor vehicle while using a mobile telephone, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, tampering with physical evidence, possession of marijuana, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle, first-degree possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), and operating on a suspended or revoked license.
