Authorities have released the name of a Hopkinsville man who was injured in a shooting on Short 19th Street at the intersection of Twyman Square Tuesday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say they were called just before 5 a.m. to the area for a report of shots fired and found Jamarius Leavell who had been shot in the head, and a house that was hit several times.
Leavell was rushed to Jennie Stuart Health by private vehicle and police blocked off the road as they investigated the shooting.
Police say Leavell was later taken by Hopkinsville EMS to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville where he remains in critical but stable condition.
