Several felony indictments, including charges of attempted murder, have been returned by the Christian County Grand Jury.
A true bill was returned on Phillip Anthony Sanders of Hopkinsville on charges of trafficking marijuana, trafficking a controlled substance over 20 dosage units, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, first-degree criminal mischief, leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid or assistance with serious injury or death, fourteen counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, and ten counts of attempted murder.
The charges stem from October 2nd when Hopkinsville Police said that Sanders fired shots into an occupied home on East 1st Street, causing damages to the home and a car outside of the residence. He then allegedly hit a fire hydrant with his vehicle and fled the area.
During Sanders arrest, police said they found 8 ounces of marijuana, 10 packages of suspected THC-laced gummies, 70 Buprenorphine strips, scales, and a handgun in his home.
The grand jury indicted Michael Justin Henderson, of Hopkinsville, on charges of kidnapping, first-degree burglary, first-degree assault, first-degree strangulation, first-degree wanton endangerment, resisting arrest, and third-degree terroristic threatening.
The charges are from October 28th when deputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office said Henderson kicked in the door to a home on Quisenberry Lane, armed with a crossbow. He then allegedly kidnapped and assaulted a woman by choking her. Deputies located Henderson with the woman on Bassett Avenue, where they said he resisted arrest and threatened deputies and their families before he was tased and pepper sprayed.
A true bill was returned on Travis Allen Wayne Williams, of Hopkinsville, on seventeen counts of possession of material portraying a sexual performance by a minor over 12 years old and under 18 years old.
The indictment alleges that between August 29th and September 22nd, Williams possessed 17 images pictures/or videos that visually depict a sexual performance by a minor on his personal computer.v
