A Hopkinsville man was charged with assault after he hit a woman with a gun in Hopkinsville Friday night.
Hopkinsville Police say they were in the area of Younglove Street for a report of shots fired and found a woman who said 62-year-old Willie White hit her in the head with a handgun but no shots were fired.
White was located at his home then arrested and charged with second-degree assault domestic violence.
