Rape, kidnapping, and wanton endangerment charges were among indictments returned by the Christian County Grand Jury Friday.
Michael Christopher Croney, of Hopkinsville, was indicted on charges of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree criminal mischief, third-degree terroristic threatening, and two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.
According to the indictment, the charges stem from September 22, 2023, when Croney fired a firearm and threatened two people. He is also accused of causing $1,000 worth of damage to their property and attempting to elude police after he was ordered to stop.
A true bill was returned on Traivaun Demitchell Buckner, of Hopkinsville, on charges of first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy, kidnapping, first-degree strangulation, first-degree wanton endangerment, second-degree assault, three counts of fourth-degree assault and other offenses.
The grand jury indicted Donta Terell Taylor, of Hopkinsville, on a single count of first-degree child abuse of a child under 12 years of age from an incident on September 16, 2023.
And a true bill was returned on Aaron Hinrichs of Waco, Kentucky for failure to comply with the sex offender registry. According to the indictment, on November 14, 2023, Hinrichs failed to notify the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry of his change of address.
