Home Damaged But Cat Saved In Hopkinsville Fire (w/VIDEO)

A home on Seminole Drive in Hopkinsville was badly damaged in a fire Monday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Fire Department Spokesman Captain Payton Rogers says they were called to the home for smoke inside the home and a fire in the living room just after 1 p.m.

The owner of the home was able to get out uninjured and firefighters were able to get her cat Mitzi out of the home. Mitzi was given oxygen and is believed to be doing well.

Rogers says the fire is believed to have started in the living room with an electric fireplace.
