A man was severely injured in a wreck on Canton Street in Hopkinsville Monday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say a car was westbound at the intersection of West 16th Street when it slid off the road and hit a utility pole trapping the driver inside the vehicle.
The man was cut from his car by Hopkinsville Fire and EMS by using several tools including the jaws of life.
The man was then taken by Hopkinsville EMS to Jennie Stuart Health and later transported by ambulance to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville with severe injuries. Authorities checked with multiple helicopters but due to weather, they were not able to transport the man to Nashville.
The crash happened just before 9 a.m.
