A Hopkinsville woman was severely injured in a crash involving a train on East 7th Street in Hopkinsville Monday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say just after 4 p.m. a westbound SUV was hit by a train on East 7th Street severely injuring the driver of the SUV 33-year-old Christina Linares.
She was taken by Hopkinsville EMS to Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville for her injuries. Witnesses told law enforcement it appeared Linares attempted to stop before pulling into the path of the train.
Police say the lights and bells at the railroad crossing were activated when they arrived.
