Trigg County Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Charges For Hopkinsville Man

A Hopkinsville man was charged with possession of drugs during a traffic stop on Rockcastle Road in Trigg County Friday afternoon.

Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies say they stopped 51-year-old Michael Killebrew for his license plate being issued to a completely different vehicle and during the stop, he claimed he was in the process of purchasing the vehicle and did not have insurance or registration for it.

He reportedly gave consent to search the vehicle and a handgun was found. Deputies say he also had a bag of meth in his pocket.

Killebrew was arrested and charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of meth, no registration receipt, no registration plates, failure to maintain required insurance, and improper registration plate.
