Funeral services for 79-year-old Don Mock, of Hopkinsville, will be noon Tuesday at King’s Funeral Home.
Private burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 AM until the funeral hour.
Survivors include:
Wife of 54 years, Sue Mock, of Hopkinsville;
Two brothers-in-law, Jackie Sholar (Teresa), of Gracey, and Bobby Sholar, of Hopkinsville;
Five sisters-in-law, Wanda Morris (Danny), of Hopkinsville, Nell Fowler (Ray), of Gracey, Lou Butts (James), of Cadiz, Martha Bunn, of Tampa, Forida, and Gayla Sholar, of Cadiz;
And several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Rev. Kennith Morris is officiating.
He died Friday, January 26, 2024 at his home.
He was born in Trigg County January 16, 1945, to the late William Bedford Mock and Lillian Agnes Knight Mock.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father and mother-In-Law, Ernest and Mary Frances Sholar; brothers-in-law Johnny Sholar and Ernest “JR” Sholar, and sister-in-law: Doris Sholar.
He was a US Navy Veteran and he was a farmer and carpenter, and was called to the ministry in 1967. During his call to the ministry, he pastored at West Mt. Zoar Baptist Church in Hopkinsville, Wallonia Baptist Church in Wallonia, South Union Baptist Church in Hopkinsville and served as the Interim Pastor at Locust Grove Baptist Church.
He worked at Dana Corporation and later retired from there in 2014. He was known for his Christmas decorations and light display on Mock Road. He was an avid Kentucky Wildcat Basketball fan, loved fishing and loved planting and growing flowers.
