Wanted Hopkinsville Man Arrested After Pursuit

A Hopkinsville man wanted for parole violation was arrested in Madisonville Saturday afternoon after leading police on a car chase.

An officer with the Madisonville Police Department’s Interdiction Unit observed 23-year-old Zyair Clack on I-69 shortly after noon and believed him to be intoxicated.

Police said Clack got off at the Earlington exit at a high rate of speed. Once inside the Madisonville city limits, Clack collided with a car at the intersection of Main Street and East McLaughlin. The report said Clack ran from the vehicle and was arrested after a short foot pursuit and struggle with officers.

Police said Clack was found in possession of drugs and a loaded pistol. An investigation determined Clack was a convicted felon and was wanted by the Kentucky Parole Board and wanted in Christian County on robbery, kidnapping, and assault charges.

Clack was charged in Hopkins County with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of a controlled substance, DUI, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, two counts of wanton endangerment, and two counts of fleeing and evading police.

He was lodged in the Hopkins County Jail under an $85,000 cash bond.

A police officer suffered minor injuries and was treated and released at Baptist Health Deaconess Hospital.
