A Trigg County native has been named the interim program director of the Hopkinsville-Christian County YMCA.
Shelton Burress furthered his education at Jacksonville University after graduating from Trigg County High School. During his time at the university, he showcased his dedication and leadership skills as an active member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
A release from the YMCA said Burress had over 10 years of valuable experience in the sports and recreation industry and brings a unique blend of expertise to the Hopkinsville-Christian County YMCA. CEO Sheryl Ellis said Burress’ commitment to exceptional youth and adult programming and fostering a sense of community aligns perfectly with the YMCA’s mission and values.
In his role as Interim Program Director, Burruss will oversee and develop various youth and adult programs, summer camp and specialty camps, and aquatics programming aimed at promoting fun activities, team sports, community engagement, and overall well-being.
