For the second straight game, Caldwell County avenged a loss from earlier this season.
On Saturday, it was a 26-point turnaround as the Tigers beat Graves County 50-47 after falling to the Eagles 68-45 on Dec. 12.
Tuesday night, it was a 36-point swing, as Caldwell turned back Union County 65-49 after losing to the Braves 74-54 on Dec. 14.
The Tigers are now 17-11 and making a run at a 20-win season after the back-to-back victories.
A 19-0 run midway through the game put Caldwell in control against Union.
Down 23-22, Caldwell got two free throws from Jaydarius Wilson with 1:39 left in the first half to take the lead. Wilson then scored from in close with just 6 seconds to go to send the Tigers to the locker room with a 26-23 advantage.
Demaurius Thompson opened the second half with a 3-pointer for the Tigers. By the time he drilled another 3 with 2:32 left in the third period, Caldwell had built a 41-23 lead.
Luke Parker had a 3-pointer during the big run. He canned another trey at the 1:05 mark of the third quarter, then Wilson hit two free throws with 47 seconds remaining to give the Tigers their biggest lead of the night at 48-29.
Union (12-14) tried to get back in the game in the final frame. The Braves cut the margin to single digits at 55-46 with just under 4 minutes to play, but could get no closer as Caldwell hit its free throws down the stretch.
Wilson posted another double-double for the Tigers with 21 points and 15 rebounds. He is averaging 21.3 points and 11.1 boards a game.
Parker scored 10 of his 14 points in the second half. Carter Whittington had 10 of his 13 after the break and was 7 of 8 at the free throw line.
Thompson hit three 3-pointers and finished with nine points.
Caldwell was 14 of 18 at the stripe in the contest for 77.8 percent. Union, meanwhile, was 3 of 6.
Cameron Miller was the only Brave to score in double figures with 14 points. Jarren Johnson and Cale Johnson each had nine.
Union got off to a quick start, leading much of the first quarter and building a 17-10 lead at one point.
Caldwell answered with a 12-0 run to go up 22-17, but Union scored the next six points, taking its final lead at 23-22.
The Tigers will go to Paducah Tilghman on Thursday (varsity only at 6:00) before finishing the regular season at home on Friday against Livingston Central.
