A man and woman were charged with possession of drugs after a traffic stop on East 9th Street in Hopkinsville Sunday night.
Hopkinsville Police say they stopped 40-year-old Jesus Nieves for not wearing a seatbelt and during the stop, he gave them a false name.
After being taken into custody, he reportedly moved his handcuffs in front of him and was seen moving around a lot before a glass pipe fell out of his boot.
After a search of the vehicle, and his passenger 38-year-old Katherine Spellman meth and a gun, and glass pipes were reportedly found.
Spellman was arrested and charged with second-degree hindering prosecution or apprehension and possession of meth. Nieves was also arrested on warrants for failure to appear and he was charged with tampering with physical evidence, possession of meth, giving officers false identifying information, no operator’s license, and failure to wear seat belts.
