Elva Gingerich, 85, of Crofton

Elva Anna Glick Gingerich, 85, wife of Samuel Gingerich died at 2:45 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2024, at her home in Crofton, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. at the Crofton Amish Community Center located at 1304 Crofton Dawson Road. Visitation will be at the Crofton Amish Community Center from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. Burial will follow in the Crofton Amish Cemetery.

A native of Ohio, she was born May 29, 1938, to the late Daniel and Malinda Yoder Glick. She grew up in Kalone, Iowa where she met and married Samuel Gingerich. They lived together in Holy Matrimony for 59 years and 3 months. They moved to Kentucky in 1969 and lived in Kentucky until their deaths. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Samuel Freeman Gingerich; parents: Daniel and Malinda Glick; brothers: Harley and wife Carol; Enos and wife Mary; and John Glick; sister: Elsie and husband John Henry Beachy; she is also preceded by one granddaughter.

Survivors include sons: John (Irene) Gingerich of Harrisburg, Illinois; Darold (Martha) Gingerich of Wellman, Iowa; daughters: Julie (Marlin) Miller of Kenton, Tennessee; Twila (Ronald) Detweiler of Crofton, Kentucky; Myrna (William) Detweiler of Crofton, Kentucky; Marlene (Allen) Witmer of Deer Lodge, Tennessee; sister-in-law: Marge Glick; step sister-in-law: Emma Beachy; 35 Grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren.
