Police have released more information about a wreck on Fort Campbell Boulevard in Hopkinsville that sent five people to the hospital Wednesday night.
Hopkinsville Police say an SUV driven by 49-year-old Scotty Highsmith was northbound when it ran off the road and collided with a utility pole causing the vehicle to overturn several times trapping him inside.
The crash broke the utility pole causing several lines to hang low over the top of Fort Campbell Boulevard. Scotty Highsmith reportedly told police a vehicle got too close to the back of his SUV causing it to “get loose” and him to crash.
Scotty Highsmith, along with his passengers 36-year-old Shomoa Adams, 25-year-old Ryan Highsmith, 9-year-old Timothy Adams, and 17-year-old Elainea Highsmith all of Hopkinsville were treated and transported by Hopkinsville EMS to Jennie Stuart Health for injuries.
