April Deemed ‘Month Of The Military Child’

Every April is known as ‘Month of the Military Child,’ a reminder of the unique challenges faced by children in military families and the unwavering support they provide to their parents in uniform.

Fort Campbell’s Association of the U.S. Army President Kim Cody tells Your News Edge that purple is the color to wear to honor those children.

Cody says there are various programs in place at Fort Campbell and across the country that help children adjust to their ever-changing environments.

Cody says having an open outlook toward military children in our community truly helps their efforts.

All schools in Christian, Todd, and Trigg Counties are designated ‘Purple Star’ schools. Both the Todd and Trigg County districts have earned that distinction within the last year. You can learn more about the Kentucky effort here.
