A man and woman were charged with possession of drugs after a report of a disturbance on West 7th Street Sunday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say they were called to the area for a disturbance between a man and a woman and located 53-year-old Craig Kirksey and 27-year-old Rachel Kubsch in the area.
While talking with, Kirksey Police say he appeared to be under the influence of some kind of substance and after a search of his pockets, he was found to have meth.
Kubsch was reportedly found to be holding a cup containing a syringe that was loaded with meth.
Police say Kirksey resisted arrest and during the tussle, the officer’s body cam mount on his vest was damaged.
They were both arrested and charged with possession of meth. Kirksey was also charged with resisting arrest and third-degree criminal mischief.
