A Hopkinsville man was charged with wanton endangerment of a police officer and receiving stolen property on Kelly Street Monday night.
Hopkinsville Police say the owner of a dirt bike that had been stolen was told it was behind a home on Kelly Street and was sent photos of it behind the home.
The owner reportedly confronted 35-year-old Terrence Stepp who lives in the home but left when the situation escalated.
Police say they were able to get a warrant to search the home but Stepp would not exit the home and barricaded himself inside.
As police used a law enforcement K9 to enter the home the dog reportedly bit the officer due to the tight space because the door was barricaded.
Stepp was arrested and charged with second-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, resisting arrest, and two counts of receiving stolen property. The dirt bike was reportedly recovered inside the home.
