Graveside services for 86-year-old James T. Vertree, of Crofton, will be 1:30 PM Wednesday, May 15, at Castleberry Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 AM until 1 PM Wednesday, May 15, at Dogwood Funerals & Cremations of Crofton.
Survivors include:
His wife, Doris Eli Cline Vertree;
Daughter, Connie Church, of Owensboro;
One grandchild and five great grandchildren.
He died at 3:58 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2024, at Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville.
A native of Daviess County, he was born January 12, 1938 the son of James Theodore Vertree, Sr. and Clarice Vanover Vertree.
He was employed by Peabody Mining Company where he worked as a maintenance and repairman.
He loved his country, and felt it was his duty to serve in the military. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served with pride. He was a true patriot and always went out of his when he would see a fellow veteran to thank them for their service.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his seven siblings.
