The deadline for candidates to file for non-partisan races on the November general election ballot is next week.

Trigg County Clerk Carmen Finley said the non-partisan races in Trigg County include school board elections in three districts, Cadiz City Council, and the Trigg County Soil & Water Conservation District Board.

in School Board District Two, Earl Wade and incumbent Gayle Rufli have filed. Finley said Board Chairman Jo Alyce Harper has filed to run in District 4 and as of Wednesday morning, no one had filed to run in District 5.

School board terms are for four years with their election staggered. Districts One and Three will be on the 2026 ballot.

All six Cadiz City Council members — Susan Bryant, Brian Futrell, Susie Hendricks, Brenda Price, Tim Bridges, and Bob Noel — have filed to run for another term. The top six vote-getters in the race will be elected to a two-year term on the council.

Finley said Kenneth Shipley and Barry Alexander have filed to run for the soil and water conservation district board.

The deadline to file for the non-partisan races is Tuesday, June 4.

The deadline for an Independent, political organization, or political group candidate not involved in the May primary election is August 12.
