Trigg County’s Board of Education convened in executive session Tuesday afternoon at the Main Street board office, alongside the Superintendent Screening Committee, in order to continue discussions surrounding the successor of outgoing leader Bill Thorpe.
No action was taken in the moments after, but school attorney Jack Lackey said the board — consisting of chair Jo Alyce Harper and members Charlene Sheehan, Gayle Rufli, Theresa Cunningham Allen and Clara Beth Hyde — will interview two candidates later this week.
Both candidates, he said, were recommended by the committee — which is comprised of Dustin Gilbert, Tracy Oliver, Lindsey Kinslow, April Colson, Keionna Dixon and Brian Parker.
Meeting notices, he added, will be sent when the interviews are finalized, and he said a second round of interviews might be possible.
Trigg County’s Board of Education next meets in regular session at 6 PM Thursday.
