People from all sides of the political spectrum gathered Friday afternoon in Hopkinsville, as United States Senator Rand Paul spoke at the God, Country, & Flag Luncheon sponsored by the Todd, Christian, and Logan County Republican parties.
Senator Paul took the time to stray away from his usual comments about actions in Washington, D.C., replacing them with how everyone needs to come together and not shy away from disagreements, by allowing each other to share them without being censored.
He told Your News Edge his speech focused on “being free and having liberty requires you to be good.”
He added that the government is not always the answer when problems arise.
During his speech, Paul asked the question: How many of you would steal if suddenly stealing was no longer against the law?
Paul, a Republican, said it’s difficult to get Democrats and others who think differently to hear his message.
